"Landscape is not the subject it is the

vehicle through which I can express
intangible things. Things which have no
narrative, loss, memory, all can be done
through the language of landscape"
- William Crozier

The rural Landscape around my home in
West Cork has been the primary influence
in my work.  I look for elements within that
terraine that perfectly signify my interest in
the human state, representing the natural
cycle of life.  Seasonal change, death, decay
and rebirth all play an important role in my
practice.  I'm drawn to subjects that have a
story to tell, making the invisible visible,
exploring notions of the everyday, the often
overlooked and discarded.  While people
are not phisically present in the work I am
interested in the impact they may have on
the landscape.  My work derives from
sketchbook studies, photographic notes
and written reflections.  Sounds, colours,
smells, pattern, textures,lights, thoughts are
all taken into consideration using a mix of
drawing, painting and photographic images
to engage with the subject matter.
